About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Atkore. As an EHS Specialist, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training and effective communication to employees on EHS procedures and protocols.
  • Conduct regular site tours to enforce safety, fire, security, and environmental standards.
  • Inspect premises and personnel work for non-conformities and audit production processes for safety.
  • Prepare reports on incidents and accidents, and maintain compliance with legislation and procedures.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to meet EHS standards and drive EHS enhancements.
  • Develop integrated QMS and EHS Management Systems to ensure seamless operations.
  • Conduct EHS incident investigations and analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • Recognized EHS Industry qualification.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Years of experience in an EHS field.
  • Experience in EHS management.
  • Understanding of business strategies.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Ability to influence and multi-task.
  • Strong organizational skills with a customer-oriented approach.
  • Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
