Position Overview:
In the role of EHS Officer, you will be instrumental in fostering a safe and healthy workplace, minimizing risks, and ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulating and executing policies and procedures
- Delivering training and facilitating effective communication
- Monitoring compliance and reporting to both internal and external stakeholders
- Ensuring environmental stewardship through responsible waste management, emissions control, and adherence to environmental laws
- Coordinating responses to emergencies
- Maintaining legal compliance and staying updated on relevant legislation
- Advocating for employee health and well-being
- Collaborating with operational teams to uphold EHS standards and drive improvements
- Setting and achieving EHS compliance goals
- Developing integrated Quality Management Systems (QMS) and EHS Management Systems
- Conducting investigations into EHS incidents and analyzing performance metrics
- Performing routine site inspections to enforce safety, fire, security, and environmental standards
- Assessing premises and personnel work for compliance
- Auditing production processes for safety adherence
- Preparing detailed reports on incidents and accidents
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal procedures
- Creating safety improvement plans with actionable recommendations
- Collaborating with law enforcement on significant incidents
Qualifications:
- GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics and English
- Recognized qualification in the EHS field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience in an EHS-related role
- Proven track record in EHS management
- Understanding of business strategies and objectives
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to influence and manage multiple tasks
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on customer service
- Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills
