Position Overview:

In the role of EHS Officer, you will be instrumental in fostering a safe and healthy workplace, reducing risks, and ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulating and executing policies and procedures
  • Delivering training and ensuring effective communication
  • Monitoring compliance and reporting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Facilitating environmental protection through responsible waste management, emissions control, and adherence to environmental laws
  • Coordinating responses to emergencies
  • Ensuring compliance with legal standards and staying updated on relevant legislation
  • Advocating for employee health and well-being
  • Collaborating with operational teams to uphold EHS standards and promote improvements
  • Setting and achieving EHS compliance goals
  • Developing integrated Quality Management Systems (QMS) and EHS Management Systems
  • Conducting investigations into EHS incidents and analyzing performance metrics
  • Performing routine site inspections to enforce safety, fire, security, and environmental protocols
  • Assessing premises and personnel work for compliance
  • Auditing production processes for safety adherence
  • Preparing detailed reports on incidents and accidents
  • Maintaining compliance with applicable legislation and procedures
  • Creating safety improvement plans with actionable recommendations
  • Collaborating with law enforcement on significant incidents

Qualifications:

  • GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics and English
  • Recognized qualification in the EHS industry
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience in an EHS-related field
  • Background in EHS management
  • Understanding of business strategies
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to influence and manage multiple tasks
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on customer service
  • Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills
