Job Summary

The Team Leader will play a pivotal role in supporting store management in creating an environment that fosters creativity, employee development, and the VIBE philosophy. This individual will be responsible for managing aspects of performance development within the department team, including performance appraisals, individual development plans, coaching, and counseling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performance Development: Manage performance development within the department team, including performance appraisals, individual development plans, coaching, and counseling.
  • Talent Development: Recognize and develop talented individuals for advancement and growth within the organization.
  • Project Management: Effectively delegate projects while allowing others the creativity to succeed by making their own decisions.
  • Store Operations: Perform all store-level operational procedures accurately and in a timely fashion, in accordance with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Department Management: Manage aspects of the assigned department in collaboration with the Department Manager (if applicable) or Visual Merchandising Manager, including training, shipment placement, markdowns, transfers, merchandising, and store standards.
  • Commercial Awareness: Maximize departmental sales through analytical and creative management of merchandise from receipt to sales.
  • Market Trends: Understand and interpret current fashion trends in local markets to generate creative solutions.
Requirements
  • Commercial Awareness: Utilize Company reports to react to trends and drive business.
  • Customer Profile: Stay abreast of current trends and have a sound knowledge of customer profile by keeping up to date with external influences, such as media and local community.
  • Management Experience: Experience in a management role working in a fast-paced, high-volume fashion retail environment.
  • Culture and Appeal: An understanding of the Urban Outfitters culture and its appeal to the local market.
