As a Data Engineer at Pepperjam, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our data infrastructure and empowering data-driven decision making across the organization.

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines leveraging Google Cloud Platform, Google BigQuery, Apache Airflow, Airbyte, HDFS, Kafka, and Apache Spark.
  • Integrating vast datasets from diverse internal and external sources to create a comprehensive and unified view of our business operations.
  • Ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of data systems by implementing best practices for data quality, security, and governance.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, analysts, and developers, to understand their data needs and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Partnering with data scientists and stakeholders to support data-driven insights and implement data-powered solutions that drive business value.
  • Designing and implementing efficient data models, evaluating various modeling approaches, and clearly communicating the rationale behind your choices.
  • Staying abreast of the latest advancements and trends in the data engineering landscape to continuously enhance our capabilities.

We are seeking a talented Data Engineer with:

  • Proven experience working with Google Cloud Platform, Google BigQuery, Apache Airflow, Airbyte, HDFS, and Apache Spark.
  • A strong understanding of data warehousing principles, data modeling techniques, and ETL pipeline design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Solid software engineering practices and hands-on experience developing production-level Python code.
  • Proficiency in SQL and a deep understanding of query optimization strategies.
  • A comprehensive grasp of data security and privacy principles to ensure the protection of sensitive information.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills, coupled with strong communication and collaboration abilities.
