About the Role

As a Head of Data Engineering, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the data strategy, leading a team of engineers, and ensuring the efficient use of data across the organization. Your expertise will be crucial in selecting the right technologies, managing data architecture, and introducing best practices to ensure high-quality code.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to devise a data strategy that aligns with the company's goals.
  2. Support and mentor current engineers in their work, providing guidance on architecture and programming.
  3. Oversee the utilization of data within the organization, ensuring it is used effectively to drive business decisions.
  4. Make informed decisions on technology investments, ensuring they align with the company's vision.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A strong understanding of Python programming and its applications.
  2. Proven experience in leading teams and managing individuals, with a focus on collaboration and communication.
  3. Experience working with cloud environments and introducing best practices to ensure high-quality code.

Desirable Skills

While not essential, experience in InsurTech, managing cross-functional teams, and scaling data platforms from the ground up would be highly valued.
