This is an excellent opportunity to join our growing team as we seek to hire Substance Support Specialists in Hampshire. You will play a crucial role in assisting children and young individuals, making a significant impact on their lives.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide specialized, focused assistance to youth up to the age of 25, offering confidential and impartial advice regarding substance use, including drugs and alcohol, through various therapeutic methods.

While the work can be demanding, it is immensely fulfilling. The services provided by our specialists have demonstrated a tangible positive effect on the lives of our clients. Last year, 100% of our clients expressed satisfaction with our services, 98% reported feeling more empowered to make positive life choices, 86% indicated an improvement in their mental health, and 91% of clients under 18 exited the program with favorable outcomes (e.g., reduced risk or improved circumstances).

Alongside the extensive training program provided by Catch22, you will have the chance to enhance your skills and knowledge through additional training opportunities offered by Hampshire County Council. This role also allows you to network and collaborate with various partner organizations and stakeholders within the substance support sector.

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with children and young people facing complex challenges or vulnerabilities. This experience may come from fields such as substance support, youth mental health, child services, education, pastoral care, or special educational needs.
  • The ability to establish positive and trusting relationships with young individuals.
  • A flexible and resilient mindset, committed to supporting clients effectively.

Additional Information

Salary: Starting from £25,500 per annum, based on experience
Work Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: The roles are based in various locations across South Hampshire, requiring travel across the region.

  • Remote work options are available once or twice a week, depending on service needs.
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
