We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to take on the role of Senior Manufacturing Engineer. This position is pivotal in ensuring the effective relocation of production lines and machinery across our global operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing work transfer projects with a focus on efficiency, budget adherence, and high-quality standards.

Role Responsibilities:

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Spearhead the technical elements of work transfer projects from initiation to completion. Formulate comprehensive project plans detailing timelines, milestones, risk evaluations, and budgets. Track progress and implement necessary adjustments to achieve project goals.
  • Engineering Expertise: Deliver engineering insights in the planning and execution of production line relocations. Evaluate current processes, design new production layouts, select and install machinery, and supervise validation processes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with teams across production, quality assurance, supply chain, and facility management to ensure a unified approach to work transfers.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of all work transfer activities in line with company policies and regulatory standards. Develop and uphold standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality documentation.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Utilize lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance work transfer processes. Identify and implement strategies to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and elevate quality.
  • Training and Development: Offer training and support to teams at both sending and receiving sites, ensuring personnel are well-versed in new equipment and processes.
  • Vendor Relations: Oversee relationships with external vendors and contractors involved in the transfer process. Negotiate contracts, monitor work quality, and ensure compliance with timelines.
  • Evaluation Post-Transfer: Conduct reviews after project completion to assess the effectiveness of the transfer process. Collect feedback from stakeholders and apply lessons learned to future initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to interact effectively with all organizational levels and stakeholders, both locally and internationally.
  • Industry Experience: Background in aerospace or a related field, with experience managing projects across various countries and navigating international logistics.
  • Team-Oriented and Proactive: Excellent teamwork abilities, fostering relationships with colleagues and external partners. Demonstrates initiative in problem anticipation and solution development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management Experience: Proven track record in leading complex projects within manufacturing or industrial environments, with familiarity in project management tools.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in manufacturing processes, equipment design, and automation, with experience in CAD software for production layouts.
  • Lean Manufacturing Knowledge: Understanding of lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies; certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt are advantageous.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adjust to evolving project requirements and work effectively under pressure.
  • Technical Certifications: Relevant certifications in manufacturing engineering or project management.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with project management, ERP, or MRP software.
  • Training Experience: Background in developing and delivering training materials to enhance workforce skills.
  • Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring precision and compliance in all aspects of work transfer projects.
