Manufacturing Process Engineer

Role Overview:

As a Manufacturing Process Engineer at Raytheon Technologies, you will report directly to the Engineering Manager and play a crucial role in ensuring that new product designs are feasible for production. Key Responsibilities:

Design for Manufacturability: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve cost, delivery, and safety objectives. Problem Resolution: Promptly address challenges during the production phase, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and corrective measures. Technical Documentation: Develop comprehensive manufacturing documentation and methodologies for production components. Performance Culture: Advocate for continuous improvement within the engineering team. Cost Management: Consistently evaluate manufacturing techniques to control and reduce expenses. Quality Assessment: Evaluate and approve internal and external quality issues and concessions. Process Implementation: Execute Design Assurance Review and Process Control Board processes, implementing minor design adjustments as necessary. Technical Leadership: Ensure that design objectives are met effectively. Knowledge Integration: Incorporate lessons learned into processes and designs to enhance safety, cost efficiency, delivery, and lead times. Production Assistance: Provide ongoing engineering support for manufacturing operations.

Essential Qualifications:

Education: A degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in engineering management or operations. Experience: Previous roles as a Designer or Manufacturing Engineer in aerospace, automotive, or industrial sectors. Familiarity with Quality, Industrialization, and Operations processes. Experience with sheet metal components, castings, complex machined parts, and welded or brazed assemblies. Strong design engineering background with expertise in complex product design. Proficiency in CAD (preferably NX) and PLM (Teamcenter) systems. Experience in continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and lean methodologies. Familiarity with heat exchangers and piping assemblies is advantageous. Skills: Exceptional analytical and communication abilities. Experience in Design for X (cost, manufacture, maintenance, build). Proven technical and professional leadership within an engineering team. Successful project delivery focused on cost, delivery, and quality enhancements. Experience in driving change across an organization. Practical experience in a production or supply chain environment in Design or Manufacturing Engineering. Experience in New Product Introduction, Industrialization, Production, and related processes.
