Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Producibility Engineer to join our team at Raytheon Technologies. As a key member of our Design Engineering organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the manufacturability and producibility of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design for manufacturing process, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure cost, delivery, and product safety targets are met.
  • Drive rapid resolution of issues during industrialization and production, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to improve performance and eliminate repeat defects.
  • Develop and deliver robust manufacturing technical packages and methods for all production components, meeting quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Support the High Performance Culture (HPC) in the team, championing continuous improvement and driving the elimination of concessions and rework.
  • Control and reduce costs to drive profitability in the factory, challenging methods of manufacture across the product family.
  • Effectively assess and sentence internal and external concessions, production permits, and manufacturing quality issues.
  • Deploy and execute DAR and PCB processes, implementing minor design modifications as needed.
  • Ensure design intent is achieved, serving as a technical authority for manufacturing.
  • Drive lessons learned into methods and designs during product introduction and subsequent manufacturing, focusing on safety, cost, delivery, and lead time.
  • Provide day-to-day production support activities, requiring engineering input to support manufacturing operations.
Requirements
  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience in engineering management and/or an operational function.
  • Previous experience as a Designer or Manufacturing Engineer in aerospace, automotive, or industrial sectors, with familiarity with Quality, Industrialization, and Operations processes.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and solid design engineering background.
  • Expertise in the design and definition process of complex products through the product life cycle.
  • Experience using CAD (ideally NX) and PLM (Teamcenter) packages.
  • Experience in continuous improvement, root cause investigation, and lean techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Design for X experience (cost, manufacture, maintenance, and build).
  • Practical experience of operating within a production or external supply chain facility in either a Design Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering capacity.
  • Practical experience of New Product Introduction, Industrialization, Production, and associated processes.
