Role Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the meticulous planning, execution, and completion of work transfer projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Project Management: Spearhead the technical elements of work transfer initiatives from start to finish. Develop comprehensive project plans detailing timelines, milestones, risk assessments, and budgets. Track progress and implement necessary adjustments to achieve project goals.
- Technical Guidance: Offer engineering expertise in the planning and execution of production line relocations. Evaluate current processes, design new production layouts, select and install equipment, and supervise validation procedures.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with various departments, including production, quality assurance, supply chain, and facility management, to ensure a unified approach to work transfers.
- Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all activities related to work transfers are documented in line with company policies and regulatory standards. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality documentation.
- Continuous Improvement: Utilize lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance work transfer processes. Identify and implement strategies to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and elevate quality.
- Training and Development: Provide training and support to teams at both sending and receiving sites, ensuring staff are well-equipped to handle new equipment and processes.
- Vendor Oversight: Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors involved in the transfer process. Negotiate contracts, monitor work quality, and ensure adherence to timelines.
- Evaluation Post-Transfer: Conduct reviews after project completion to evaluate the effectiveness of the transfer process. Gather insights from stakeholders and apply lessons learned to future projects.
Required Qualifications:
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, both locally and internationally.
- Industry Experience: Proven experience in the aerospace or similar industries, with a track record of managing projects across various countries.
- Proactive Team Player: Excellent teamwork capabilities, fostering relationships with colleagues and external partners while taking initiative to identify and resolve issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Project Management Experience: Demonstrated experience in leading complex projects within manufacturing or industrial environments, with familiarity in project management tools.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment design, and automation, with skills in CAD software for production layouts.
- Lean Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies; certification is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
- Adaptability: Ability to adjust to changing project demands and work effectively under pressure.
- Relevant Certifications: Certifications in manufacturing engineering, project management, or specific technologies are advantageous.
- Software Skills: Experience with project management, ERP, or MRP software.
- Training Experience: Background in developing and delivering training materials to enhance workforce skills.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail, ensuring precision and compliance in all aspects of work transfer projects.
