Our Vision for the Future
We have established exciting opportunities in acute medicine within our newly constructed Acute Medical Unit (AMU). This unit has been thoughtfully redesigned to include more staff, advanced treatments, and state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. The AMU features a dedicated front-of-house facility with an integrated Assessment Unit and a Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit, all supported by integrated diagnostics, therapies, and pharmacy hubs. This setup aims to improve access to emergency care and reduce waiting times for procedures, targeting a minimized length of stay for patients.
The new acute medical unit will serve as a central intake point for the population served by our health board.
We are expanding our acute medical workforce to align with service redesign changes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in establishing and managing the Acute Medical Unit, which includes an assessment unit, short-stay unit, and Same Day Emergency Care, providing opportunities for personal development and a sense of belonging within the acute medical team.
