Lead Data Protection and Information Governance Professional

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Protection and Information Governance Lead to join our team at Social Security Scotland. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management and protection of our data and information assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data protection and information governance strategy that aligns with our organization's goals and objectives.
- Provide strategic guidance and direction to senior leadership and stakeholders on data protection and information governance matters.
- Data Protection and Information Governance Expertise
- Provide expert advice and guidance on data protection and information governance laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and standards for data protection and information governance.
- Team Leadership
- Lead and manage a team of data protection and information governance professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
- Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure effective data protection and information governance practices across the organization.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, colleagues, and external partners.
- Communicate data protection and information governance information and updates to stakeholders, as required.
Requirements
- Expertise
- Proven expertise in data protection and information governance laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Experience in developing and implementing data protection and information governance strategies and policies.
- Leadership and Management
- Proven leadership and management experience, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Education and Qualifications
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Professional certifications in data protection and information governance, such as CIPP/E or CIPT.
