Job Description

NHS Scotland is seeking a highly skilled Information Governance Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Information Governance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management of information across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Information Governance Manager and team, including managing the department's administrative function, running daily audits, and investigating potential data breaches.
  • Information Asset Register: Populate and review the Board's Information Asset Register to ensure it is complete and up-to-date, and provide standard reports to senior managers.
  • Customer Service: Act as the first point of contact for telephone and email queries from the general public, patients, and staff, and log all enquiries and requests for support via our service management system.
  • Support to IG Officers: Provide administrative support to IG Officers, including letters, document filing, and managing shared drives.
Requirements
  • Data Protection Legislation: Demonstrate a strong understanding of Data Protection legislation, including the UKGDPR and associated action plans.
  • Microsoft Office: Be proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office packages.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with staff, patients, and the general public.
