Job Title: Head of Compliance and Risk Management

Job Description:

MERJE is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Head of Compliance and Risk Management for a reputable Investment Management firm. As a key member of the firm's leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the Compliance and Risk teams and ensuring that the firm's operations are in line with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical advice, support, and regulatory guidance to the firm's management and staff.
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of robust systems, policies, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Develop and oversee the annual compliance monitoring programme.
  • Manage regulatory permissions and foster effective relationships with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
  • Review and implement compliance policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of broad Compliance experience, preferably gained within an Investment Management environment.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels across the business.
  • Team management experience, with the ability to lead and inspire.
  • Thorough knowledge of the FCA's regulatory rules applicable to the investment management space.
  • Strong academic background, with relevant compliance qualifications such as the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) being desirable.
