Position Overview

We are in search of several dynamic, personable, and motivated Cost Managers/Quantity Surveyors to support our ongoing expansion in the water and utilities sector, making a meaningful difference to both our organization and UK infrastructure.

As a Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor within our UK Infrastructure division, you will engage in a range of client and Turner & Townsend projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contributing to the realization of Turner & Townsend's strategic vision for 2025.
  • Building friendly, professional, and appropriate relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders involved in the projects and programs we support.
  • Administering various contracts in alignment with project objectives and policies.
  • Delivering precise project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to ensure completion within budget.
  • Proactively overseeing and managing cost variances and contract cash flow, ensuring timely and accurate applications.
  • Collaborating with client and contractor teams to oversee the delivery of project outputs, KPIs, and objectives, including program performance, cost management, and value engineering.
  • Effectively managing contract changes to ensure projects adhere to governance and best practices.
  • Enhancing the accuracy of forecasts and budgets.
  • Providing sound commercial insights and support to all stakeholders.
  • Ensuring the negotiation and agreement of final accounts.
  • Leading teams and commissions as required.
Qualifications:

Previous experience or a solid understanding of the following will be advantageous for applicants:
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Contract Management (NEC3, Option C preferred).
  • Cost Management expertise.
  • Change management and control proficiency.
  • Valuation skills.
  • Risk Management knowledge.
  • Procurement experience.
  • Estimating capabilities.
  • Pricing strategies.
  • Reporting skills.
  • A collaborative approach and a best-for-project mindset.
  • Sharing best practices.
  • People management experience.
  • Commission management skills.
  • Identifying and driving efficiencies and improvements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Strong knowledge of construction industry technical matters, including various procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
  • Ideally degree-qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • Ideally hold or be pursuing membership in a relevant professional body.
