Position Overview:

We are on the lookout for dedicated and motivated Cost Control Specialists to enhance our team, contributing to our ongoing expansion and positively impacting both our organization and the infrastructure landscape in the UK.

As a Cost Control Specialist within our UK Infrastructure division, you will engage in a diverse range of client and Turner & Townsend projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fostering amicable, professional, and suitable relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders involved in the projects and programs we support.
  • Overseeing various contracts in alignment with project goals and organizational policies.
  • Delivering precise project cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting to ensure completion within budgetary constraints.
  • Proactively monitoring and managing cost discrepancies and contract cash flow, ensuring timely and accurate applications.
  • Collaborating with client and contractor teams to ensure the successful delivery of project outputs, KPIs, and objectives, focusing on program performance, cost management, and value optimization.
  • Effectively managing contract modifications, ensuring projects adhere to governance and best practices.
  • Driving enhancements in the precision of forecasts and budgets.
  • Providing valuable commercial insights and support to all stakeholders.
  • Negotiating and finalizing accounts.
  • Leading teams and commissions as required.

Qualifications:

Preferred Experience: A solid understanding or prior experience in the following areas will be advantageous:

  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Contract Management (NEC3, Option C preferred).
  • Cost Management expertise.
  • Change management and oversight.
  • Valuation skills.
  • Risk Management capabilities.
  • Procurement knowledge.
  • Estimating proficiency.
  • Pricing strategies.
  • Reporting skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and a project-focused attitude.
  • Sharing best practices.
  • People management experience.
  • Commission oversight.
  • Identifying and implementing efficiencies and improvements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of construction industry technical matters, including various procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.

Educational Background:

  • Ideally, a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • Preferably holding or pursuing membership in a recognized professional body or equivalent.
