About the Role

VSL, a leading global construction company, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Cost Controller to join our finance team. As a Junior Cost Controller, you will play a critical role in supporting our projects across various business domains, including construction, engineering, and project management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Discrepancy Management: Identify and manage discrepancies to ensure timely payment to suppliers.
  • Raise Manual Payment Requests: Process urgent payments and manage cash flow.
  • Project Cash and Payments Monitoring: Monitor project cash flow and assist in managing payments.
  • Procurement Support: Assist site personnel in raising and receiving purchase orders, and follow up with suppliers.
Subcontractor Domain
  • Subcontractor Contract Management: Create subcontractor contracts in SAP after reviewing signed contracts.
  • Monthly Subcontractor Situations: Create monthly subcontractor situations in SAP after validation by our QS.
  • Payment Management: Ensure timely payments to subcontractors.
Client Module
  • Project Setup: Manage the opening of new projects on SAP after contract signing and report to headquarters.
  • Access Rights Management: Manage organization charts for SAP and authorize access rights.
  • Client Contract Management: Create client contracts in SAP.
  • Contract Updates: Update contract end-of-site values.
  • Invoice Management: Raise invoices for projects.
Monthly Project Cost Control
  • Recharge File Coding: Code monthly recharge files (expenses, salary, phone, and other back-charge files).
  • Staff Cost Reconciliation: Reallocate staff costs to different projects and liaise with site cost controllers for data accuracy.
  • Intra-Group Invoicing: Raise intra-group invoices and monitor IG recharges.
  • End-of-Site Cost Updates: Update end-of-site costs by reviewing project tasks with project managers.
  • Recurrent Business Cost Control: Book accruals and update end-of-site and remaining costs with project managers.

You will also perform general administrative tasks, such as IT requests, scanning letters, and assisting staff with the Concur system.

Requirements
  • Relevant Degree: Hold a relevant degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Beginner-Friendly: Beginner candidates are welcome, with a plus for experience in accounting or finance teams.
  • Construction Experience: First experience in a construction company is a plus.
Technical Skills
  • SAP and MS Office: Good knowledge of SAP and MS Office.
  • Accounting: Strong accounting skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills.
