Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust is expanding its GP Out of Hours service (WestCall) and is on the lookout for skilled Telephone Triage clinicians to enhance our dedicated team. Join us in providing exceptional care to patients presenting with various health concerns.

We are in search of proficient Advanced Nurse or Advanced Paramedic Practitioners with a minimum of 3 years of qualification and at least 1 year of recent experience in general practice or minor illness management. You will benefit from a strong support network provided by our multidisciplinary team.

Available Shifts:

  • Saturday 6pm - midnight
  • Saturday 12pm - 6pm
  • Sunday 7am - 1pm
  • Sunday 12pm - 6pm
  • Sunday 6pm - midnight

We encourage applications even if you cannot commit to every weekend.

This role offers hybrid working, primarily from home, with an expectation to work on-site for a portion of your shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate at an advanced level, functioning autonomously within the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality urgent care.
  • Assume responsibility for assessing, diagnosing, treating, or referring patients.
  • Conduct telephone triage and provide telephonic advice.
  • As an independent prescriber, issue medications in line with NMC/HCPC guidelines and national policies.
  • Request and interpret diagnostic tests based on patient needs.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse/Paramedic.
  • Advanced Clinical Practice post-registration or completion of clinical skills modules.
  • Non-Medical Prescribing (NMP) qualification.
  • Experience in managing minor illnesses.
  • A proactive, adaptable, and enthusiastic attitude.
