Communication and Interpersonal Skills

Establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, carers, and patient groups through clear and concise communication.

Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with members of the multidisciplinary team within the healthcare setting.

Maintain accurate and legible documentation in accordance with organizational policies and guidelines.

Clinical Responsibilities

Provide high-quality patient care, recognizing and meeting the unique needs of each individual.

Following training and assessment, competently perform clinical tasks relevant to the role and healthcare area as agreed.

Acknowledge any limitations of competence in accepting care activities outside agreed parameters and inform a registered practitioner.

Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans for patients.

Assist patients with all aspects of personal hygiene and promote their dignity and well-being.

Promote and respect the rights, responsibilities, and diversity of individuals, ensuring that religious and cultural needs are addressed.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, such as the Leeds Improvement Method, to enhance the safety and quality of care.

Health, Safety, and Security

Ensure the safe handling and storage of patient property and valuables in accordance with organizational policies.

Maintain a safe working environment, reporting incidents, accidents, and concerns in accordance with organizational procedures.

Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Leadership and Supervision

Will be expected to lead a team of healthcare support workers on a shift-by-shift basis, providing guidance and support as needed.

Raise concerns regarding risk, danger, malpractice, or wrongdoing by following the organizational whistleblowing policy and supporting processes.
