The Hawthorns Retirement is excited to welcome a passionate and skilled team player to join us as a Chef de Partie. In this role, you will collaborate with our Hotel Services team to prepare, season, and create meals for our residents and guests. You will also be responsible for catering to special events. Our mission is to provide a diverse range of food that is not only nutritious but also seasonal and thoughtfully crafted. We believe that high-quality cuisine can be both a delightful experience and a healthy choice, ensuring that all residents can enjoy our offerings without hesitation. To succeed in this position, you should possess culinary experience, ideally within a hospitality setting, along with a relevant catering qualification and at least a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. Key responsibilities for our Chef de Partie include: Assessing menus and daily logs to determine the types and quantities of ingredients needed for preparation. Preparing all dishes in accordance with company recipes and menus, accommodating special dietary needs and adhering to portion control standards. Following safe food handling practices. Collaborating with fellow kitchen staff to ensure a seamless and safe kitchen operation and meal service. Presenting food in an appealing and timely manner. Supervising the preparation and arrangement of serving trolleys. Adhering to proper procedures for covering, labeling, dating, and storing food efficiently. Maintaining cleanliness in all meal preparation and service areas, including pots, pans, kitchen surfaces, and floors, while following the established cleaning schedule. Focusing on customer satisfaction and addressing any food-related concerns as necessary. Building and nurturing positive relationships with residents, families, visitors, and colleagues.
