Position Overview:


Kent is seeking a Principal Civil Structural Engineer responsible for overseeing and coordinating engineering deliverables while ensuring adherence to project timelines.

This role typically involves supervising a team of civil and structural engineers, addressing discipline-specific requirements, and performing hands-on engineering tasks. The successful candidate will collaborate with other disciplines to ensure design consistency and support project management in identifying technical challenges that may affect project timelines or budgets.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Align with Kent's core values, ensuring safety, ethics, innovation, and quality in all deliverables.
  • Act as a lead engineer or specialist on various project phases, including feasibility studies, detailed design, and EPC projects.
  • Oversee all civil and structural engineering work, directing the preparation of project deliverables and delegating tasks as necessary.
  • Resolve complex technical issues independently and communicate effectively with project stakeholders.
  • Conduct specialist reviews of civil and structural engineering aspects, leveraging high-level competency in the field.
  • Ensure compliance with the Civil/Structural Design Manual and Kent Management System procedures.
  • Identify and address discrepancies in project proposals and manage changes effectively.
  • Provide construction support and participate in multi-discipline engineering design reviews.
  • Prepare project documentation, including Basis of Design, Specifications, and Technical Bid Evaluations.
  • Plan and schedule civil and structural activities, coordinating resource allocation with management.
  • Deliver regular updates and reports to project management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Support procurement processes, including vendor documentation reviews and technical evaluations.
  • Ensure adherence to client specifications while recommending value-added improvements.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance to maintain compliance with ISO standards and project-specific procedures.
  • Assist in the development of team members, identifying training needs and fostering professional growth.
  • Contribute to the recruitment process as needed.


Additional responsibilities may be assigned as required, ensuring flexibility to meet the dynamic needs of the organization while supporting employee development.


Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer status with relevant professional institutions.
  • Experience in the Onshore/Offshore Oil and Gas Industry and Low Carbon Energy Transition.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in Onshore and Offshore Civil and Structural Engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with structural analysis software.
  • Strong coordination and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage budgets and maintain cost awareness.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to project delivery.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
