About the Role:

Kent is seeking a Senior Project Engineer responsible for coordinating the production of engineering deliverables and providing progress updates in alignment with project plans. This role involves managing the interfaces among engineering offices, disciplines, project controls, procurement, and external contractors or suppliers.

The Senior Project Engineer typically reports to the Project Engineering Manager or Project Manager, depending on the project's size and complexity. The corporate reporting line is to the respective Departmental/Group Manager.

We are looking for exceptional individuals for this critical engineering position who possess the talent, enthusiasm, and drive to contribute to our exciting expansion plans. The UK Engineering group will engage in a variety of stimulating and challenging opportunities in Low Carbon/Energy Transition (CCUS, Green Hydrogen, Blue Hydrogen, Offshore Wind, Waste to X, Emissions Reduction) as well as responsibly advancing traditional international energy projects. Key qualities we seek include a hands-on approach, collaboration (including international teamwork), and a commitment to a long-term career within a high-performing team.

We implement a hybrid working model that combines office and remote work to foster an effective team dynamic within Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate communication between the Engineering and Project Management teams, ensuring effective information transfer.
  • Participate in planning and scheduling engineering scope for projects, contributing to the technical document register.
  • Monitor engineering progress, address shortfalls, assist in developing recovery plans, and provide feedback to supervisors.
  • Ensure engineering team participation in project reviews and assist in resolving arising issues.
  • Attend project review meetings, compiling and distributing associated reports.
  • Address interface issues between disciplines and seek management assistance when necessary.
  • Assist in producing the project execution plan and prepare coordination procedures.
  • Provide progress monitoring and reporting, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Formulate resolutions to complex technical issues with support from engineering and project services personnel.
  • Coordinate the preparation and presentation of final documentation for client acceptance.
  • Participate in formal project reviews upon completion, identifying opportunities for learning and development.
  • Engage in employee performance evaluations, establishing criteria and recommending training needs.
  • Ensure compliance with Kent's ISO Quality procedures and other accredited frameworks.
  • Maintain project registers and documentation.
  • Attend key project and vendor meetings, documenting as required.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables for specific project areas, ensuring alignment with project plans.
  • Make decisions regarding resource requirements and technical issues within delegated authority.
  • Lead engineering meetings and coordinate technical and commercial responses as delegated.
  • Duties primarily performed in the main office, with required travel to other offices and site visits as necessary.
  • Team members are expected to be in the office nominally three days a week to foster a positive team culture.
Your Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Engineering.
  • Chartered Status preferred.
  • Relevant experience in Engineering/Client organizations within the Oil and Gas or Low Carbon Energy Transition sectors.
