Our collective energy is enriched by various nationalities across six continents and 24 countries. We are dedicated to celebrating individuality - regardless of ethnic background, gender, age, religion, identity, or ability.

About the Role:

Due to ongoing growth, Kent is seeking a Project Director to oversee an entire project team, including project engineering managers, project engineers, engineering disciplines, project services, and external partners. You will be responsible for delivering the Pre-FEED, FEED, or Detailed Design project or a segment of a major project in alignment with the contract, within budget, and adhering to established corporate and client HSSE and Quality standards.

We are looking for exceptional individuals for this pivotal Project Director position who possess the talent, enthusiasm, and drive to contribute to our exciting expansion strategy. The UK Engineering group will support a range of intriguing and challenging opportunities in Low Carbon/Energy Transition (CCUS, Green Hydrogen, Blue Hydrogen, Offshore Wind, Waste to X, Emissions Reduction) as well as responsibly advancing traditional international energy projects. Being hands-on, collaborative (including international teamwork), and committed to a long-term career within a high-performing and close-knit team are essential qualities we seek.

We operate a hybrid working model, blending office and remote work. To foster effective team dynamics within Engineering, Kent will assist candidates with relocation within the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the delivery of Pre-FEED, FEED, detailed design projects, and EPCM projects.
  • Provide leadership in HSSE and QA/QC. Approve project HSSE and QA/QC plans and monitor their effective implementation. Support project and corporate quality audits as necessary.
  • Establish and adequately resource project requirements, including staffing, office facilities, IT infrastructure, and IM strategy, while regularly reviewing workforce demobilization plans and project progress to minimize costs.
  • Oversee the initial mobilization of the core project team, ensuring all necessary activities are reviewed, actions assigned, timelines agreed upon, and relevant parties briefed.
  • Approve the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and subsidiary coordination procedures for the project, ensuring effective implementation and supporting quality audits as needed.
  • Lead technical reviews such as HAZOP, HAZID, value engineering, design integrity, and 3D model reviews, supported by the Project Engineering Manager, Project Engineers, and Lead Discipline Engineers.
  • Accountable for the overall project budget and contract, coordinating all activities for successful initiation, execution, and close-out of the project within schedule and contractual requirements.
  • Establish mechanisms for external and internal progress monitoring and reporting against the project plan, ensuring effective control of the project budget.
  • Responsible for all management, commercial, and technical decisions related to the project, consulting with the Project Sponsor or Project Director on major issues.
  • Supervise the entire project team, typically comprising up to 75 personnel, including project personnel, engineers, designers, project services, and third-party contractors.
  • Duties primarily performed in the main office, with time allocated to supervision, planning, coordination, attending meetings, and maintaining contacts. Travel to other offices and site visits may be required as necessary.
  • Our team is expected to be in the office nominally three days a week to foster a positive team culture.
Your Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
  • Master's Degree in Engineering.
  • Chartered Status preferred. Significant project management experience in Engineering/Client organizations within the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Experience managing FEED and Detailed Design projects.
  • Excellent understanding of contract terms and conditions.
  • Knowledge of international equipment specifications and codes.
  • Familiarity with standard international specifications and codes.
  • Thorough knowledge of Safety and Quality procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of planning and project controls.
  • Experience with global work share.
We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community - a place where everyone can be themselves, thrive, and grow. From day one, we offer a range of family-friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements, and employee networks to support staff from diverse backgrounds.
