About the Role:

Kent is seeking a Senior Project Engineer responsible for overseeing the engineering deliverables and ensuring alignment with project objectives. This role involves managing the collaboration between various engineering teams, project controls, procurement, and external contractors.

The Senior Project Engineer reports to the Project Engineering Manager or Project Manager, depending on the project's complexity. We are looking for exceptional individuals who are eager to contribute to our ambitious growth plans in the Low Carbon and Energy Transition sectors, as well as traditional energy projects. Key attributes include a hands-on approach, strong collaboration skills, and a commitment to a long-term career in a high-performing team.

We support a hybrid working model, allowing for a balance between office and remote work to foster effective teamwork within Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate communication between the Engineering and Project Management teams to ensure seamless information flow.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling engineering tasks, contributing to the project technical document register.
  • Monitor engineering progress, identify shortfalls, and develop recovery plans as necessary.
  • Ensure engineering team participation in project reviews and assist in resolving any arising issues.
  • Attend project review meetings and ensure timely distribution of related reports.
  • Address interface issues between disciplines and seek management support when needed.
  • Aid in creating the project execution plan and develop coordination procedures.
  • Provide progress monitoring and reporting, implementing corrective actions as required.
  • Formulate solutions to complex technical challenges with support from engineering and project services personnel.
  • Coordinate the preparation and presentation of final documentation for client acceptance.
  • Participate in project completion reviews to identify learning opportunities.
  • Engage in employee performance evaluations, establish criteria, and recommend training needs.
  • Ensure compliance with Kent's quality procedures and relevant frameworks.
  • Maintain project registers and documentation as required.
  • Attend key project and vendor meetings, documenting minutes as necessary.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the Direct Supervisor.
  • Oversee the production of engineering deliverables for specific project areas, coordinating inputs from various teams.
  • Make decisions regarding resource requirements and technical issues, as delegated by the Direct Supervisor.
  • Lead engineering meetings and coordinate technical and commercial responses as needed.
  • Primarily work in the Main Office, with occasional travel to other locations as required.
  • The team is expected to be in the office approximately three days a week to foster a positive team culture.
Your Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Engineering.
  • Chartered Status is preferred.
  • Relevant experience in Engineering or Client organizations within the Oil and Gas or Low Carbon Energy sectors.
  • Strong coordination and proactive skills.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with FEED, Detailed Design, and EPC projects.
  • Familiarity with various engineering disciplines and international specifications.
  • Knowledge of safety and quality procedures.
  • Experience with global work sharing.
