Your Role

In the position of Assistant Manager, you will assist the Store Manager in driving sales performance and overseeing daily operations. Your focus will be on delivering an outstanding customer experience while optimizing key performance indicators (KPIs) and maintaining high operational standards. You will also play a crucial role in mentoring junior team members to help them achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Store Manager in enhancing store performance and managing daily operations, taking charge in their absence.
  • Maximize sales opportunities to drive store performance and develop strategies to improve and exceed KPIs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to foster loyalty and encourage repeat business.
  • Deliver a VIP experience to customers by proactively engaging them with updates on products and events.
  • Share your passion for our products by conducting tasting events and effectively communicating the unique stories behind them.
  • Support the recruitment, management, and development of team members, offering guidance and feedback to enhance their skills.
  • Encourage junior staff to expand their product knowledge and pursue WSET qualifications while continuously enhancing your own expertise.
  • Take pride in the appearance and upkeep of the store, ensuring any issues are promptly reported and addressed.
  • Identify and implement improvements to optimize store operations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and complete all mandatory training to maintain a safe and legal working environment.
  • Facilitate the communication of updates and information from the store, region, and business levels.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Experience in a team-oriented, fast-paced retail or hospitality setting.
  • Proven ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Understanding of retail KPIs and strategies for improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • A proactive attitude with a commitment to resolving challenges.
  • Excellent communication and time management abilities.
  • WSET Level 2 qualification is essential, with a willingness to pursue Level 3 for career advancement.
  • A valid UK/EU/EEA driving license for at least 12 months with a clean driving record.
