Our client is seeking a Project Planner/Controller to join their team on a contractual basis.


Position Overview:
The Project Planner plays a crucial role in achieving key objectives while collaborating closely with the Business Performance Management Team and Technical Teams.
Location:
Bolton - A balanced mix of onsite and remote work, with attendance required for team meetings as necessary.

Security Clearance:
Active SC clearance is preferred; however, full SC clearance will be mandatory to commence work.

Compensation:
£39 per hour via Umbrella, classified as inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyze ongoing project progress and performance, comparing it against contractual and internal benchmarks to identify variances and their causes.
2. Prepare comprehensive reports and propose actions to sustain or enhance project progress.
3. Establish and initiate the overall project schedule for the sector/projects, ensuring compliance with company standards.
4. Facilitate the development of planning skills within the project team, providing coaching to engineering, production, and project management members on best practices in planning and scheduling.
5. Integrate all work package plans to create a cohesive overall network that meets company standards.
6. Manage and maintain the project's performance measurement baseline.
7. Support work package teams in updating their plans on a monthly basis.
8. Produce, distribute, and report project schedule data as required, advising on conflicts and corrective measures.
9. Oversee the Earned Value Management (EVM) methodology and apply it as necessary.
10. Conduct project critical path analysis in accordance with company standards.
11. Cultivate strong working relationships with engineers and the broader community to embed the company's project control standards, systems, and methods, delivering accurate and timely project performance status data.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Primavera and SAP PS, along with industry-standard computing applications (particularly spreadsheets).
- Strong communication skills, capable of collaborating within large teams with diverse skill sets (Engineering, Finance, Commercial, Project Management, etc.).
- Experience in developing new project plans.
- Ability to thrive in a multicultural pan-European environment.
- Proven experience in commercial and financial management.
- A proactive team player who can motivate others, demonstrating assertiveness and strong negotiation and arbitration skills.
