An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Contract, Data and Performance Analyst to join Rotala’s North West Commercial team. Your engagement with key stakeholders within the business will influence and shape the quality of our operation and future growth within the North West (Greater Manchester and Lancashire) bus markets.

The role sits within the Commercial Team which oversees the commercial functions of Diamond Bus North West and Preston Bus. The Team consists of six members of staff based at the regional head office in Bolton. This role would suit either an applicant already working in the bus industry in a similar role, or someone looking to progress within the industry.

It’s an exciting time to be working for the company, as one of the first operators of franchised buses in the Bee Network. Rotala is a company keen to expand its operations within the area which will inevitably open up career progression opportunities for candidates keen to progress their careers.

Basic Purpose of the Role

As a member of the commercial department, the Contract Data Analyst owns and is responsible for all contractual data returns to TfGM relating to franchised and non-franchised services. Additionally, the role supports the Contract Data and Performance Manager to produce accurate and timely insights into the ongoing performance of the business.

Main Duties

Contractual Performance: To fully understand the Performance Regime as part of the Franchise Agreement and support the depot team in meeting the required standards. To be aware of performance levels on a daily basis. Supporting the depot teams to identify issues affecting performance and developing and implementing plans to address areas where performance could be improved. To provide clear and concise updates to the senior management team and directors regarding contractual performance across all franchises, including highlighting early any items of particular concern. To produce accurate KPIs and dashboards on a regular basis for the depot and senior management teams. Supporting the local managers and others in compiling periodic and annual reports for TfGM/GMCA. Commercial/Network functions: Implement temporary changes to routes for planned and unexpected road closures affecting service and liaising with the commercial and operational team in the communication of this. In conjunction with the depot team, continually monitor service performance and propose timetable or schedule changes to the General Manager and TfGM via the Change Mechanism to improve performance for the customer. Finding solutions for service-related issues, new initiatives and developments. Assisting the wider commercial team with evaluating change requests. To assist the Contract Data and Performance Manager to compile and implement schedule changes. Contractual data responsibilities: Processing contractual data submissions to TfGM/GMCA, ensuring that data submissions are accurate and submitted in a timely fashion. Updating relevant systems required for contractual data interface, including but not limited to, AVL, ETM.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Exceptional engagement skills with motivational qualities as a prerequisite, perpetuating an environment of trust and confidence to all disciplines An ability to regulate employees through motivational engagement Computer skills with essential organisational aptitude including experiencing of using scheduling/timetabling software packages. Ability in endorsing commitment to set long/short-term objectives Mentoring/coaching skills in the progression of the deliverables of the business Self-reliant and straightforward communicator with skill sets to promote the customer facing business, in a positive light with the capacity to inspire in a structured and encouraging way The role requires regular face to face review meetings, so a professional manner, can-do attitude and good communication skills are a must.
