Job Summary

Pro Insurance Solutions Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Underwriting Support Assistant to join our team. As an Underwriting Support Assistant, you will provide critical support to our Underwriting teams, ensuring the smooth operation of our underwriting processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clearance of new risk submissions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Supporting new brokers through the accreditation process, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
  • Preparation of quote, certificate, and policy documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Management of audit requirements, ensuring timely completion and accuracy.
  • Instruction and monitoring of new surveys, ensuring prompt completion and follow-up.
  • Supporting new coverholders through the approval process, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
  • Chasing and management of coverholder Bordereau, ensuring timely completion and accuracy.
  • Ability to understand individual (re)insurance contract details, providing reporting and management oversight.
  • Ensuring timeliness and accuracy of security requirements, such as Letters of Credit and Funds withheld, in support of the underwriting business.
  • Understanding underwriting support processes and systems, extracting and manipulating submission-related data from broker portals.
  • Acting as treaty statement liaison, monitoring dual signature requirements, and ensuring compliance.
  • Quality checking of risk recording instructions, adopting a 'Right First Time' approach prior to issuance to the offshore team.
  • Reporting and acting upon quality measures, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Identification and transition of tasks from onshore to offshore teams, ensuring seamless workflow.
  • Building and maintaining excellent working relationships with the underwriting team, ensuring regular communication and updates on operational issues.
  • Monitoring workflow tools, ensuring tasks are completed within appropriate timeframes.

Requirements

  • Relevant (re)insurance industry experience, ideally within the Underwriting Community.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to use discretion in working to resolve process issues, ensuring the success of our established global outsourcing models.
  • Possess a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to work flexibly, particularly during peak underwriting periods.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
  • Proven ability to work with speed and accuracy, particularly under pressure.
  • Experience supporting work allocation and working to SLAs/tight deadlines.
  • Proven experience of building and maintaining good working relationships.
