About the Role

Ecclesiastical Insurance Group is seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our team in Gloucester. As an Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and supporting our "right first time" approach to customer service.

You will be responsible for developing, negotiating, and profitably underwriting new and existing business within your authority and in line with our strategy. You will also plan, prioritize, and manage your own work to deliver agreed objectives and meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and negotiate insurance policies with clients to ensure they meet their needs and our business objectives.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of client interactions, policy details, and underwriting decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and effective decision-making.
  • Identify and escalate any risks to the business, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to client inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs, including Maths and English at grade C or above, or equivalent.
  • Qualified Cert CII or commitment to work towards within an agreed timescale.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Appropriate IT skills and ability to learn new systems.
