Key Responsibilities

As a Medical Advisor at AWP Health & Life SA, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the preauthorization of in-patient treatment to optimize healthcare outcomes.
  • Implementing aggressive cost containment strategies through rigorous adjudication, medical appropriateness evaluation, and effective negotiation.
  • Managing complex high-value cases to ensure timely and cost-effective resolution.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with brokers, clients, and providers to drive business growth.
  • Conducting thorough medical claims reviews to identify areas for improvement.
  • Overseeing Health, Safety, and Welfare within the team, adhering to the Company's Safety Statement.
  • Performing ad hoc duties as required.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A nursing qualification.
  • Previous clinical nursing experience.
  • Fluency in English and Italian.
  • Experience within the insurance industry, preferably in healthcare.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Completion or progression towards the Diploma in Private Medical Insurance.
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland without any restrictions.
