Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to fill the role of Ward Clerk at our East Ward within the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust. As a Ward Clerk, you will play an essential role in our dynamic inpatient multi-disciplinary teams, managing the clerical and administrative tasks necessary for the efficient operation of the ward. Your role will often involve being the initial point of contact for visitors, relatives, and external healthcare professionals, thus ensuring a positive first impression.

The ward specializes in providing sub-acute care, complex rehabilitation, palliative care, and support during the final stages of life. Your presence will be crucial, serving as a knowledgeable resource for staff and contributing to the seamless functioning of the ward.

If you possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for working with people, this position may be ideal for you.

The available position is for 15 hours per week, scheduled over two days within a 7-day work rota.

Key Responsibilities

- Serve as the primary point of contact for relatives and caregivers, responding to telephone inquiries with empathy and professionalism.

- Provide daily administrative and clerical support to the multi-disciplinary team.

- Assist staff in maintaining high standards of record-keeping, ensuring accurate documentation of all admissions and discharges.

- Address inquiries from visitors to the ward, including professionals, and direct them to the appropriate staff members as necessary.

Note: Exposure to distressing or emotional situations may occur indirectly.
