Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to join our prestigious client in the Engineering sector based in Hinckley.
About the Role
- Provide administrative support in the office, assisting the Senior Office Administrator with the day-to-day running of the office.
- Work on your own initiative and provide cover in the absence of the Senior Office Administrator with any administrative requirements.
- Filling and retrieving information and documents, data entry, and typing/drafting/proofing letters and quotes.
- Manage the work diary, answer phone calls, and travel arrangements, including booking flights, ferries, taxis, and applying for visas.
- Maintain office equipment, handle sales order processing and stock control using Sage 1000, and liaise with transport companies.
- Arrange imports and exports, deal with customer enquiries, frank post and purchase orders, and credit card transactions.
- Maintain stationery levels, order PPE, and send out literature and mail.
Key Skills
- Professional, punctual, methodical, and organized; reliable and honest.
- Flexible, good at juggling tasks and prioritizing, and a good team player.
- Computer literate, excellent with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook, and good touch typing skills.
- High level of English spelling and grammar and numeracy, and accurate with good attention to detail.
- Focused with ability to plan own work, show initiative, and meet deadlines.
- Tactful, show discretion, and respect confidentiality, adhering to confidentiality agreements already in place.
- Polite, confident, and helpful attitude to communicate with UK and overseas customers/partners and suppliers.
- Presentation is important, so a presentable appearance is required.
Desirable Experience
- Previous administration experience within an office environment.
- Shorthand skills would be desirable.
Training
Training will be provided on the job.
