Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to take on the role of Ward Clerk within the East Ward at Hinckley and Bosworth Community Hospital. As a Ward Clerk, you will play an essential role in our busy inpatient multi-disciplinary teams, managing the clerical and administrative tasks necessary for the smooth operation of the ward. You will frequently serve as the initial point of contact for visitors, relatives, and external healthcare professionals, making it crucial to deliver an outstanding first impression.
The ward specializes in providing sub-acute care, complex rehabilitation, palliative care, and support during the final days of life. Your presence will be vital, serving as a knowledgeable resource for staff to ensure the ward functions seamlessly.
If you possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for working with people, this position is ideal for you.
The available position is for 15 hours per week, scheduled over two days within a 7-day per week rota.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for relatives and caregivers, handling telephone inquiries with empathy and professionalism.
- Provide daily administrative and clerical assistance to the multi-disciplinary team.
- Support staff in maintaining high standards of record-keeping, ensuring accurate documentation of all admissions and discharges.
- Address inquiries from visitors to the ward, including professionals, and direct them to the appropriate staff members as needed.
- Be prepared for exposure to emotionally challenging situations, which may arise indirectly.
