About the Role

As a key member of our Supply Chain team at Halfords, you will play a pivotal role in driving our business forward. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supply Chain Merchandise Planner to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage accurate sales volume forecasts for specific planning groups, taking input from trading teams and suppliers.
  • Own and manage intake plans for specific planning groups within each category, ensuring alignment with budget expectations.
  • Influence sales and margin forecasts with buyers, ensuring commercial decisions are informed and data-driven.
  • Manage inventory levels to agreed stock budgets and within OTB, ensuring optimal availability and stockturn KPIs.
  • Develop and manage assistant merchandisers to ensure high-performing teams.
  • Collaborate with the logistics team to manage end-to-end product stock flow.
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance, ensuring strong communication and effective collaboration.

Job Context

The merchandising team plays a critical role in our business, owning and generating accurate sales volume forecasts and intake plans for each product group. This role will work closely with the Trading team to produce relevant information and analysis to inform better commercial decisions.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of high performance in a retail supply chain role.
  • Strong commercial and numerate skills, with a data-driven approach.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • SAP/BW experience, with Power BI an advantage.
  • Strong Excel and data handling skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer-obsessed and a team player with strong collaboration skills.
  • Experience of good cross-functional working.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of tenacity and drive, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and pressurized environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
