Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Junior Merchandising Specialist to join our team at Adecco. As a key member of our merchandising team, you will be responsible for coordinating the import and export of products, managing inventory, and ensuring timely deliveries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Freight and Imports:
    • Update the Product Lifecycle Management system with accurate delivery and shipping information.
    • Manage critical paths and ensure deliveries are on schedule.
    • Ensure the Distribution centre has all relevant documentation for goods in planning.
    • Liaise with internal teams to meet customers' and private label specific requirements.
    • Proactively manage factory performance to meet required order specifications and delivery timelines.
    • Update costings from freight forwarders.
    • Notify the business of any delays or issues.
  • Range Planning and Trading:
    • Work with the Buying team to create seasonal option plans.
    • Establish a balanced range of merchandise suited to the customer profile of the company.
    • Build PO templates to support Buying in placing of seasonal purchase orders.
    • Review stock and sales reports to drive seasonal rebuys in line with OTB.
    • Support in-season trading activity and markdown planning.
    • Manage product lifecycle.
    • Manage concession stocks and allocations in line with sales.
  • Ad Hoc Duties:
    • Assist with producing weekly trade reports.
    • Provide ad-hoc reports and analysis as required by the business.
    • Support the maintenance of accurate product data.
    • Support with UK trade shows where required.
Requirements
  • Experience as an Admin/Assistant Merchandiser or similar in a retail/import environment.
  • Strong Excel skills and high-level proficiency with other Microsoft Office programs.
  • Highly numerate and analytical, balanced with an interest in product.
  • Proactive at interrogating data to identify risks and opportunities and devising action plans accordingly.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously and be resilient and flexible to change, whilst managing a high workload, conflicting priorities, and pressure.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Takes a forward-thinking approach to the issues which will affect now and in the future.
  • Methodical, analytical, and organized.
  • Understanding of critical paths and seasonal range development.
Desirable/Preferred Experience
  • Proven history of successful supplier negotiation.
  • Experience discussing finances, budgets, and costs.
  • Knowledge of quality control and costs.
