Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Junior Merchandising Specialist to join our team at Adecco. As a key member of our merchandising team, you will be responsible for coordinating the flow of merchandise from suppliers to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Freight and Imports:
    • Update the Product Lifecycle Management system with accurate delivery and shipping information.
    • Ensure timely deliveries by coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.
    • Verify that all necessary documentation is in place for goods in transit.
    • Liaise with cross-functional teams to meet customer and private label requirements.
    • Monitor factory performance to meet order specifications and delivery timelines.
    • Update costings from freight forwarders and notify the business of any delays or issues.
  • Range Planning and Trading:
    • Collaborate with the Buying team to develop seasonal option plans for Own Brand products.
    • Work with the Buying team to establish a balanced range of merchandise aligned with customer profiles.
    • Develop PO templates to support Buying in placing seasonal purchase orders.
    • Analyze stock and sales reports to drive seasonal rebuys in line with OTB.
    • Support in-season trading activity and markdown planning to drive sales.
    • Manage product lifecycle and concession stocks/allocations in line with sales.
  • Ad Hoc Duties:
    • Assist in producing weekly trade reports.
    • Provide ad-hoc reports and analysis as required by the business.
    • Support the maintenance of accurate product data.
    • Participate in UK trade shows as needed.
    • Contribute to creating a workplace free from prejudice, racism, sexism, harassment, bullying, and marginalization.
Requirements
  • Experience as an Admin/Assistant Merchandiser or similar in a retail/import environment.
  • Strong Excel skills and high-level proficiency with other Microsoft Office programs.
  • Highly numerate and analytical, with an interest in product development.
  • Proactive in interrogating data to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to change.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Methodical, analytical, and organized.
  • Understanding of critical paths and seasonal range development.
Desirable Experience
  • Proven history of successful supplier negotiation.
  • Experience discussing finances, budgets, and costs.
  • Knowledge of quality control and costs.
