Job Title: Corporate Governance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Governance Specialist to join our team at Thomson LRC. As a key member of our in-house legal team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective governance of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the delivery of the corporate secretary function, ensuring high standards of governance and supporting the Board, Council, and key Committees.
  • Develop and maintain a suitable corporate governance framework, promoting good practice and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to the Chair of the Board, Council, and key Committees on governance responsibilities and best practices.
  • Oversee the provision of corporate secretariat support to the Board, Council, and key Committees, ensuring effective communication and decision-making.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including the President, Chairs of Council and Board Committees, and external agencies.
  • Develop and implement induction and training programs for Council and Board members, ensuring they are aware of governance requirements and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the General Counsel Group to ensure effective governance and compliance across the organization.
Requirements:
  • Qualification as a Solicitor or Chartered Secretary.
  • Prior company secretary experience within a corporate environment.
  • Excellent relationship skills, with the ability to engage and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong understanding of best practice in governance, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
