An exceptional opportunity exists for a seasoned Board Secretary to become part of NHS Scotland.

This position entails overseeing the corporate governance framework of the Board by spearheading the ongoing enhancement and execution of governance systems, ensuring that the Board operates within its legal parameters and statutory obligations.

The successful candidate will offer strategic counsel and guarantee the efficient operation of the Scottish Ambulance Board, Governance Committees, Executive Team, and Management Groups, adhering to exemplary standards in corporate governance and administration. You will hold primary responsibility for managing governance issues related to the Board and its Committees, acting as the central point of contact for all Board-related activities, and providing assistance to Board members and senior management throughout the organization.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and collaborating closely with the Chair and Non-Executive Board members, the postholder is expected to bring specialized knowledge in corporate governance and administration to enhance decision-making processes within the Board, Governance Committees, and Executive Team. Strong communication and influencing skills are essential, particularly at the senior management level, with a readiness to address governance or policy challenges when necessary.

The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of applicable legislation and professional standards, and should be educated to Degree level or possess equivalent experience.
