Position Overview:

ARM is seeking a dedicated Software Engineer in Test (SEIT) to become a part of the pioneering SoC Bring Up and Debugger tooling solutions team.

The ARM Debugger team, situated within Central Engineering - Software, is at the forefront of developing advanced SoC Bring Up tools aimed at enhancing existing software and hardware debugging products.

We are in search of a professional who possesses a solid understanding of testing principles and methodologies, coupled with a strong background in test automation and continuous integration practices.

This role supports a hybrid working model, allowing for a flexible balance between remote work and in-office collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality automated tests and robust test frameworks.

  • Engage collaboratively within an Agile team to assist in requirement gathering and design evaluations to ensure product excellence.
  • Work closely with developers to design and implement comprehensive tests.
  • Perform exploratory testing and execute manual testing protocols.
  • Oversee nightly regression and continuous integration testing, including the analysis of initial test failures.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Extensive experience in testing applications on Linux and Windows platforms or embedded systems.
  • Proficient in executing Linux command line operations.
  • Hands-on experience with a programmable Continuous Integration system, ideally Jenkins.
  • Strong proficiency in Python or a similar scripting language.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Background in testing User Interfaces and usability aspects.
  • Familiarity with Robot Framework for test creation.
  • Understanding of programming languages such as Java or C++.
  • Knowledge of cloud service platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Awareness of embedded debugging tools including Arm Development Studio and the DSTREAM family of JTAG/SWD debug probes.
