Overview:
Are you ready to contribute to a team that develops software technology components utilized by millions of users across diverse platforms and market sectors worldwide? As a Software Architect within the Software Organization, you will collaborate with our primary software ecosystems to outline software solutions that empower Arm technology and devise strategies for their adoption and implementation by users.

About the Role:
Our Central Engineering Software division provides support for Arm technologies across a broad spectrum of software initiatives and creates illustrative software solutions to showcase practical applications. You will become part of a team of software solution architects responding to the increasing demand for software that supports Arm systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conducting thorough analysis and gaining deep insights into software solutions currently in use, particularly focusing on major open-source software projects like Linux.
- Providing software enhancements back to relevant open-source projects as a reference for Arm clients to build their systems.
- Collaborating with Arm's OS, OEM, and Silicon Partners to establish standards that facilitate the optimization, differentiation, and rapid evolution benefits of Arm's Partner model.
- Creating new software paradigms on Arm reference hardware designs.
- Assessing system performance and innovating methods for enhancement.
- Leading the validation of functionality, security, and safety.
- Expect to work closely with renowned industry leaders to help develop, optimize, and deliver the software necessary to support Arm's innovative IP while assisting Arm in expanding its presence in new market segments.

Required Skills and Experience:
- Proficient knowledge of Arm-based computer architecture and the variety of SoCs and devices utilizing Arm hardware IP.
- Experience in software profiling, instrumentation, and optimization for real-world applications and workloads, including AI stacks, runtime compilers, and multimedia processing.
- Strong comprehension of complex multi-component computing systems with demonstrable low-level OS/device driver development or integration experience.
- Authoritative knowledge of C or C++ development with expertise in optimizing applications, workloads, and compilers.
- Understanding of rigorous software testing methodologies and designing software for testing purposes.
- Familiarity with the software lifecycle: has guided complex software from concept through production and maintenance.

Education & Qualifications:
A solid university degree (or equivalent), ideally in a quantitative field, although other graduates may be considered if they possess relevant experience.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience with Android, ChromeOS, or Windows software and systems.
- Familiarity with Linux, Linux distributions, Cloud/Edge applications, and networking software.
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence software stacks, algorithms, and tools.
- Understanding of multimedia system designs involving GPUs, compositing display processors, and image signal processing.
- Acquaintance with System-on-a-Chip architectures.
