Overview:
As a pivotal member of our software engineering division, you will contribute to the evolution of our software strategy across diverse computing sectors, including data centers, automotive, mobile, robotics, networking, home devices, laptops, televisions, embedded systems, and IoT. Your role will focus on promoting the adoption of innovative features and trends in core processing, accelerators, and system hardware, with an emphasis on enhancing security, reliability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Grasping new Arm architecture and IP features, understanding their implementation, and determining their implications for existing software components and tools. Formulating strategies to advocate their advantages within software ecosystems and addressing challenges encountered during their integration.
- Conducting thorough analysis and gaining deep insights into software solutions currently utilized in products, particularly major open-source projects like Linux.
- Providing software enhancements back to relevant open-source initiatives as a reference for Arm clients to develop their own systems.
- Collaborating with Arm's OS, OEM, and Silicon Partners to establish standards that facilitate the optimization, differentiation, and rapid evolution benefits of Arm's Partner model.
- Developing new software paradigms on Arm reference hardware designs.
- Evaluating system performance and innovating methods for improvement.
- Leading the validation of functionality, security, and safety measures.
- Engaging closely with prominent industry leaders to assist in the development, optimization, and delivery of software essential for supporting Arm's pioneering intellectual property, while also contributing to Arm's expansion into new market segments.

Required Skills and Experience:
- Proficient knowledge of Arm-based computer architecture and the spectrum of SoCs and devices developed using Arm hardware IP.
- Experience in software profiling, instrumentation, and optimization for real-world applications and workloads, including AI stacks, runtime compilers, and multimedia processing.
- Strong comprehension of complex multi-component computing systems, with demonstrable experience in low-level OS/device driver development or integration.
- Expert knowledge of C or C++ development, with a focus on optimizing applications, workloads, and compilers.
- Understanding of rigorous software testing methodologies and designing software with testing in mind.
- Familiarity with the software lifecycle, having successfully transitioned complex software from concept to production and maintenance.

Education & Qualifications:
A good university degree (or equivalent), ideally in a numerate discipline, although other graduates with relevant experience will also be considered.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience with Android, ChromeOS, or Windows software and systems.
- Knowledge of Linux, Linux distributions, Cloud/Edge applications, and networking software.
- Understanding of Artificial Intelligence software stacks, algorithms, and tools.
- Familiarity with multimedia system designs involving GPUs, compositing display processors, and image signal processing.
- Awareness of System-on-a-Chip architectures.
