Position Overview:

ARM is seeking a dedicated Software Engineer in Test (SEIT) to become a vital part of our cutting-edge SoC Bring Up and Debugger tooling solutions team.

The ARM Debugger division within Central Engineering - Software is actively working on developing innovative SoC Bring Up tools aimed at improving our existing software and hardware debugging products.

We are looking for a professional with a comprehensive understanding of testing methodologies and practices, along with proficiency in test automation and continuous integration processes.

This role supports a hybrid working environment, promoting flexibility while maintaining a collaborative team atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

The chosen candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality automated tests and establishing robust test frameworks.

  • Engage with an Agile team to assist in requirement gathering and design evaluations to ensure product excellence.
  • Work closely with developers to design and implement effective tests.
  • Perform exploratory testing and carry out manual test plans.
  • Oversee nightly regression and continuous integration testing, including investigating initial test failures.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Extensive experience in testing applications on Linux and Windows platforms or within embedded systems.
  • Strong command of Linux command line operations.
  • Practical experience with a programmable Continuous Integration system, ideally Jenkins.
  • Proficiency in Python or another scripting language.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Background in testing User Interfaces and usability aspects.
  • Familiarity with Robot Framework for test development.
  • Basic understanding of Java or C++ programming languages.
  • Experience with cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies like Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Familiarity with embedded debugging tools, including Arm Development Studio and the DSTREAM family of JTAG/SWD debug probes.
