Quality Assurance Specialist

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the Quality Assurance team at Thorlabs as a Quality Assurance Specialist. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in our manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct incoming and outgoing inspections of components and assemblies to ensure compliance with dimensional and visual specifications.
- Operate manual measuring equipment and assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for inspection processes.
- Liaise with production team leaders to identify and resolve quality-related issues.
- Escalate repeated quality process-related concerns to the Quality Engineering team for root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and RMA teams to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Coordinate and communicate with internal and external RMA and Quality teams to ensure compliance of products.
- Carry out administrative tasks such as raising Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Corrective Actions Reports, and logging faults.
- Assist with stock control in the RMA and Q1 warehouses, process RMA sales orders, and support product recalls.
- Ensure that RMA and Quality departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are consistently met.
- Good understanding of metrology and previous use of measuring tools and equipment.
- Understanding of software and measurement systems, as well as detail-oriented skills with ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.
- Computer literate with experience using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to multitask, time manage, and work independently, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly, adhere to core values, and driven positive attitude.
- Ability to take initiatives, with a positive approach to continuous improvement activities, and receptive to new challenges and expanding current knowledge.
