Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for advancing the clinical pharmacy services within our clinical wards, with the opportunity to specialize in your area of expertise, ensuring the safe, clinical, and cost-effective utilization of medications.

Effective communication with the pharmacy team and healthcare professionals will be essential to provide quality care, education, clinical supervision, and mentorship. You will also contribute to clinical pharmacy audits and practice research.

Your role will include supporting the operational management of the team, service delivery, and planning within your specialized area.

Ensuring compliance with all aspects of clinical governance and medicines management in your clinical area will be a priority.

You will assist the Assistant Chief Pharmacists in recruiting, developing, and motivating staff to optimize performance and achieve service objectives.

Essential and Desirable Criteria

Essential:

  • Relevant education and qualifications
  • Occupational experience in a clinical setting
  • Personal qualities and continuing professional development

Desirable:

  • Non-medical prescriber qualification
  • Experience as a diploma tutor or designated supervisor for pharmacists and/or trainees
  • Experience in risk management
  • Line management experience
  • Fellowship with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and willingness to pursue further training

Experience Requirements

Essential:

  • A minimum of 4 years of hospital experience

Desirable:

  • Experience in analyzing drug usage data
