Position Overview
We are looking for a Genetic Epidemiology Research Specialist with a background in cancer and/or sleep research to contribute to a significant project examining the influence of sleep on breast cancer.

Project Details
This research initiative will utilize data from a comprehensive and diverse health database. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a leading expert in the field and will be part of a prominent research unit focused on integrative epidemiology.

Key Responsibilities
The selected researcher will engage in the following activities:

  • Curating and analyzing data derived from electronic health records and wearable technology.
  • Investigating prospective relationships between objectively measured sleep patterns and breast cancer incidence.
  • Integrating genetic information to assess genetic correlations with sleep metrics.
  • Conducting Mendelian randomization analyses to elucidate the causal pathways linking sleep to breast cancer development.
  • Exploring the differential impact of sleep on breast cancer across various ethnic groups, given the diverse cohort.

Expectations
The postholder is anticipated to:

  • Curate and analyze extensive datasets.
  • Contribute to scholarly publications and present findings at academic conferences.
  • Participate in training sessions and assist in mentoring students.

Professional Development
Support will be provided to foster the researcher’s own investigative ideas and to assist in the preparation of fellowship and grant proposals.
