Job DescriptionThe role of the Governance and Compliance Manager is suited to an individual with a clinical background in medicine, nursing, pharmacy or allied health (physiotherapist, occupational therapist etc). The role requires a dynamic individual capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously, and working with several regulators.
You must have a comprehensive understanding of good governance and risk management. You will work in an environment focused on actively managing governance and assurance across a number of services and ensuring that patient and staff safety remains paramount.
You will be working alongside the Head of Governance and Leadership Team. You will support arrangements for governance and the coordination of corporate and legal compliance across the organisation.
You will also support day-to-day coordination and oversight of all governance and compliance related meetings and working groups and ensuring efficient information flows between all teams.
You will play a key role within the organisation to ensure a modern approach to clinical standards, audit, and effectiveness is adopted, including the integration of continuous quality improvement skills and techniques.
They will lead the preparation of evidence relating to clinical effectiveness and audit for internal and external reports, reviews and inspections and advise on relevant processes throughout the services.

- Supporting with all aspects of governance and compliance across all teams
- Service improvement and development
- Deputising for the Head of Governance
- Educated to degree level or qualified by demonstrable experience- in a clinical area
- Experience of regulatory requirements and compliance, legal interactions, procurement, insurance, and contracts
- Able to investigate, manage and create actionable service improvement plans through incident/deviation management
- Experience of creation and delivery of training programmes
- The ability to research best practices and support implementation across teams.
- The ability to manage the operational aspect of the role regarding governance and compliance
- The ability to learn and develop quickly
- Excellent organisation skills, attention to detail and a systematic thinker
- Holds or is willing to work towards a recognised qualification in Governance / Risk management
