Role Overview

The Governance and Compliance Manager will be suited to an individual with a clinical background in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, or allied health. The role requires a dynamic individual capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously and working with several regulators.

You will have a comprehensive understanding of good governance and risk management. You will work in an environment focused on actively managing governance and assurance across a number of services, ensuring patient and staff safety remains paramount. You will be working alongside the Head of Governance and Leadership Team, supporting arrangements for governance and the coordination of corporate and legal compliance across the organisation.

You will play a key role in ensuring a modern approach to clinical standards, audit, and effectiveness is adopted, including the integration of continuous quality improvement skills and techniques. You will lead the preparation of evidence relating to clinical effectiveness and audit for internal and external reports, reviews, and inspections, and advise on relevant processes throughout the services.

  • Complaints handling and support
  • Support and lead in operations/governance projects
  • Support or lead in the management and development of policies and procedures
  • Supporting or leading change management
  • Scheduling and minuting of meetings as required
  • Cascading governance-related information internally
  • Supporting with all aspects of governance and compliance across all teams
  • Service improvement and development
  • Deputising for the Head of Governance

Requirements

  • Educated to degree level or qualified by demonstrable experience in a clinical area
  • Experience of regulatory requirements and compliance, legal interactions, procurement, insurance, and contracts
  • Able to investigate, manage, and create actionable service improvement plans through incident/deviation management
  • Experience of creation and delivery of training programmes
  • The ability to research best practices and support implementation across teams
  • The ability to manage the operational aspect of the role regarding governance and compliance
  • The ability to learn and develop quickly
  • Excellent organisation skills, attention to detail, and a systematic thinker
