About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Estate Operations Manager to join our team at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Estates Management Team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational management of our comprehensive maintenance service for Hard FM.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing NHS (or similar) estates services, along with being an inspiring manager who values stakeholder engagement. You will provide instructions to staff and specialist contractors, monitor their progress, standards, and costs, and handle routine problems as they arise.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist the Divisional Estates Lead to ensure statutory and mandatory compliance across the operational estates services.
  • Manage allocated Trust-wide operational projects as required, including painting programs and other maintenance initiatives.
  • Act up as appropriate for the Divisional Estates Lead.

  • Budgetary and Value Management.
  • Carrying out audits and monitoring.

  • Effective decision-making skills to secure desired outcomes.
  • Facilitating induction and on-the-job training.
  • Objective setting, planning, and delivery.
  • Planning work rotas and allocating work.
  • Using computerized monitoring systems in line with national standards.
  • Supervising a team.
Experience
  • Experience of working in a similar role or discipline.
  • Experience of activities within the property maintenance field.
  • Experience of using computerized maintenance systems.
  • Experience, understanding, and appreciation of trades performed within Estates.
  • Experience in the use of planned maintenance systems.
  • Experience of delivering minor works.
  • Experience of maintenance management utilizing both direct and contract labor.
  • Experience of managing multiple trades persons.
  • Experience of the risk management process.
  • Experience of project management.
  • Specialist knowledge of a core standards within Estates.
  • Experience of working in the NHS.
Qualifications and Training
  • Relevant postgraduate professional qualification equivalent to Diploma/Degree level in an Estates discipline and in-depth practical experience or be able to demonstrate significant proven practical experience equivalent to this.
  • Suitable Management qualification or comparable proven practical experience.
  • Experience of working in the NHS.
  • Relevant professional membership(s).
