About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional and motivated Estate Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operational management of our comprehensive maintenance service for Hard FM. This includes maintenance PPM, minor new works improvements, and delegated projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for directly managing a team of Maintenance Supervisors, FM Service Providers, and specialist Contractors. As a crucial member of the Estates Management Team, you will supervise and monitor the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of services.

You will provide instructions to staff and specialist contractors, monitor their progress, standards, and costs, and handle routine problems as they arise. You should have a proven track record in managing NHS (or similar) estates services, along with being an inspiring manager who values stakeholder engagement.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist the Divisional Estates Lead to ensure statutory and mandatory compliance across the operational estates services (Electrical bias)
  • These duties will cover all the divisions' portfolio, including out-of-area allocations.
  • Manage allocated Trust-wide operational projects as required - e.g. painting program, etc.
  • Act up as appropriate for the Divisional Estates Lead.

Experience
  • Experience of working in a similar role or discipline
  • Experience of activities within the property maintenance field
  • Experience of using computerized maintenance systems
  • Experience, understanding, and appreciation of trades performed within Estates
  • Experience in the use of planned maintenance systems
  • Experience of delivering minor works
  • Experience of maintenance management utilizing both direct and contract labor
  • Experience of managing multiple trades persons
  • Experience of the risk management process
  • Experience of project management
  • Specialist knowledge of a core standards within Estates
  • Experience of working in the NHS
Qualifications and Training
  • Relevant postgraduate professional qualification equivalent to Diploma/Degree level in an Estates discipline and in-depth practical experience or be able to demonstrate significant proven practical experience equivalent to this
  • Suitable Management qualification or comparable proven practical experience
  • Experience of working in the NHS
  • Relevant professional membership(s)
